Isolation of the undesirables. That is what any oppressive government will hope to achieve.

Isolation, sequestering the undesirables from each other and the rest of the country.
Right now it is us, your transgender fellow citizens.
Then it will be the gays. Or the neurodivergent. Or the artists. Or the handicapped. Or the ill. Or those of religions deemed unworthy.
