An epiphany during home training

This week Martijn and I will be training at home a few times, 'cause we'll be missing the Amstelveen and Almere training. Tonight I grasped two important things, thanks to him.

• On a fast do strike, bring the shinai to the left hand, not the other way around. Keep left where it is and bring the shinai down into it when lifting it to your shoulder.
• On men-kaeshi-do, have your hands close together like on fast do. Snap on the upswing, snap on the down swing. In class last Saturday I was swinging my shinai as if I was doing men-kaeshi-men, while we were practicing kaeshi-do. ( =_=)
