From zero to five kiloms in ten weeks |
This will help me greatly in my attempts to start running: the VRT1 Start to run podcast. If you don't mind the occasional banter in Flemmish, go on and download all twenty-six sessions. |
Each session provides musical background for the various phases of your training, clearly indicating when you should go from walking to jogging and back. I was planning on making something like this myself, but this saves me -a-lot- of trouble.
Thanks go out to my colleague Ralph for sharing that link on the company's Wiki.
EDIT:
Thanks to Ben for reporting the broken link to the podcast. It's been fixed :)

Congrats on picking up the C-2-5K plan. I'm starting it again this week myself, so I applaud your efforts. May I also recommend the coolrunning.com forums. There are a TON of super motivational people and individuals just like you who are there and posting their experiences.
Go Go Go!

Even een tip. Als je begint met hardlopen: HOU VOL!
Vooral in het begin, als je lichaam zich gaat aanpassen, is hardlopen klote. Maar oh wat een fijne stofjes krijg je van je lichaam cadeau als je doorzet. Gleee

So... today I finally got around to actually doing the first podcast. And I have to say, the first bit wasn't too bad. Somewhere during the second 2 minute run I was getting a bit tired, but I did finish the session, and since I wasn't quite back home when the podcast ended, I decided for another short 2 minute run/walk cycle until I arrived back at my door.
Hope I find the time to do this a few more times during the next weeks...
