Recently Wulven Game Studios informed their players of the joyous news that the Shadow Era TCG would be making the step to physical cards.
I started playing the game in April last year and since then it's improved quite a lot. There's a whole bunch of new cards as well as a new character class (rogue). Wulven also keep improving the gameplay, fixing cards here and there, making the game more balanced.
Having played Magic: the Gathering as a teenager I jumped at the chance of having actual cards for Shadow Era. I've ordered two starter decks (human mage and human warrior) at $23, which includes two booster packs and shipping and handling. Now I'm doubting whether I want to spend another $40 on 24 booster packs, because the basic starter decks will only provide basic gameplay.
While $40 might be great value for 360 extra cards (incl 24 hero cards, 24 rare/epic cards and 72 uncommons) I'm doubting very heavily. For one, the S&H is another $20. For two, who the heck am I going to play this game with anyway? I doubt whether I'd get Marli hooked on it and I don't see Menno often enough to really get into it. I might be able to get some colleagues hooked, but I'm not too sure.
I reckon I'll just stick to the two starters and have them for novelty value. I'll keep on playing the digital version. :)
