DANG! We missed out on our two iPhone 4s by -> <- this much.
My boss+friend Dick and his girlfriend spent a week in the UK and during their holiday planned on picking up two times two iPhones. Two for them, two for us. And -just- as they were sailing out of Harwhich harbour on Saturday they got the email telling them that the second pair had arrived at the store. DANG! ^_^
Oh well, we'll have to wait a few weeks for the dutch, SIM-locked version from T-Mobile.
EDIT:
Three pre-orders have been made at T-Mobile, two through my employer (for my boss and I) and one private (for Marli). Let's see when we get our hands on them!

And no, it's not dead. But maybe you want my old one? ;)

I'm looking at the Samsung Galaxy S at the moment.
One of my colleagues has one, and I have to admit that it's a damn fine smartphone, without having to resort to iTunes or having to live under the Guidance of Apple.
Only thing I'd like to know is how the battery is doing, but he needs to train his battery some more at this moment, as his Galaxy is only a couple of days old.

Hmmm, maybe it's not such a bad idea of you to want a new phone haha! Can I put my simcard in that phone? =P

If I get it SIM unlocked (which is free), then: yes :)

With regards to your "what's wrong with your old phone" question, I just found the perfect answer. If you -don't- switch phones every two years you're letting your GSM provider screw you in the a$$ :)

That's all very fine but there's also the environment to consider. It's not about the money for me.
It just goes again my values to discard a phone when it's still working fine and I'm happy with it.
Now when a friend decides to discard his phone... :).
Also there's that empty gastank challenge. How far will my phone go before it dies haha. My last phone lasted me a good 5 years. My current phone 4 years so far.

I'm not saying you should discard your current phone! Make it a backup phone (I still have my old Nokia 3210), or give it away to someone else. Marli's previous Samsung was given away to Anneke, Marli's old iPod Mini also went to Anneke :)
I agree that it's stupid to just throw something away: reuse or recycle!
Mind you, I don't know how exciting the iPhone will be to you without a data plan. But at least you can play fun games and make phone calls :)

My phone turned 4 a month ago, still going strong.
And when you switch to a sim only-plan (like I did), the profit for the telco suddenly becomes a lot less.

My HTC Desire might just be the last phone I have ever bought. Be sure to get a case (or the free bumpers Apple is handing out) so you can actually use the thing as a phone :D
