The results from that glamour photo shoot I talked about last weekend have come in! They're absolutely beautiful and I'm very proud of how great we look :3 I've added four of them to the website, to show off :p

And while we're on the subject of kilts! I have to say I _love_ wearing a great kilt since it's very practical! If I were ever to undertake a long foot journey I would not hesitate to wear mine. ^_^
"Practical! It's a whole bunch of crappy fabric around you!" you say? I say "Ignorant simp! I scoff at your lack of insight!"...
During my days in the SCA I've learned that a great kilt has many, many uses.
* It can double as a blanket or a tent.
* You can wear it in a light fashion, making it ideal for warm weather.
* You can grab a bunch of pleats and wrap them around you, in case the weather's cold.
* You can unfold even more pleats in case there's rain! You'll have a nice cape+hood keeping you dry.
* All those pleats are also marvelous for storing stuff in, taking away the need for a backpack or any other kind of bag!
Back in my SCA days one of friends carried just about all of his stuff around with him, in his kilt. Drinking cup? It's in there! Mead or wine? It's in there! A dagger? It's in there! His whole lunch? You guessed... In there.
It's a shame that in daily life a great kilt ain't that practical. Although in summer I might be tempted to wear a philabeg (also called a walking kilt). You know, the shorter "normal" kilt that everyone knows. They're also quite comfy and much more practical indoors.

Today we did something completely new! Something we'd been wanting to do for quite some time now, but had never found the right opportunity for. Today we had a professional photo shoot/session for the both of us!
We had run into the people of Glamour Vision at a conference we visited a few months back. The seemed nice enough and their portfolio contained some stunning images, including before/after pictures. The whole process is that you turn up at the appointed time with a few changes of clothes, you then pick two ensembles with and go through grime. After that you get two shoots, one for each ensemble. Fourty pictures in total, if it's the two of you.
So anywho. I wore my best suit for the first shoot and Marli wore a _very_ daring outfit (leather pants, silk/lace torselet and a denim jacket). I have to say that I saw a completely different Marli today! She looks awesome! For the second shoot we wore the outfits we wore when we met eachother for the very first time: me in my great kilt and Marli in her medieval dress.
It'll be about a week before we get all the prints we ordered (and the CD-ROM with the JPEGs!) in the mail, so you'll have to wait a little for the results. I have to say: they were _so_ worth the money we spent on this. I mean: it wasn't cheap by a long shot, but man! Those are some damn good pictures!
