As you can see _finally_ there's two new comics up :) The one for 25/10 just describes what we've been up to the last couple of months, but the one for 21/10 has a whole story of its own :)
I made that comic especially for this thread on Ars Technica Openforum, where I invited everyone to help me pick out a new computer system for myself. I was really doubting between the Sun Blade 1500 and the Apple G5 tower. The first one would be great for work related things, but would also be "all work and no play". So after the poll and some more thinking I finally decided to go with the more spartan 1.6 GHz G5 tower! In the future we'll use it to edit our home videos and I even hope to get into the hobby of creating Anime Music Videos ^_^

Today while reading through an old paper over breakfast I stumbled over a small announcement for a Retro gamers day in Maarssen, which is right around the corner from Nieuwegein. Since I'd be going to Amsterdam for work anyway (don't you just love working weekends?) I thought I'd drop by on the way home.
I got there about half an hour before closing time, looked around a bit and took a couple of pictures... You can find these in the menu left. Admittedly the Commodore/Amiga scene has never been my 'home ground'. It was nice seeing the old hardware and looking at a couple of the manuals, but that's about where my fascination ends. I loved seeing the 20x40cm Picasso video card though :P

Decided to renew a couple of sections and to add some extra stuff to others (Retro gaming and Warhammer in particular). I've al so added a new option to each side menu, allowing you to move the browser back up to the top of the section you're currently in . So, where clicking on /home will move you back to the homepage (this one ^_^), clicking on /Warhammer in the Warhammer sectio n will put you back on the page with all of the text. Thought that might be handy... or something :)

Since June Marli's been employed at Stichting Fokus where she and the rest of the team provide home care to a group of about a dozen physically handicapped people. Actualy "home care" isn't the right word for it; the official term would be "providing assistance to physically impaired persons, allowing them fulfill their own duties and their daily routine". Basically what this means is that they help these people get in and out of bed, help them during sanitary actions and assist them at other times if necessary.
It's quite hard labour and, given the fact that she works in shifts (one day in the morning, the other in during the Graveyard Shift) it's also taxing on her physique. On the plus side of things, we've been paying quite a lot of attention to our patterns in life and have thus started eating healthier and getting a bit more exercise :) So far Marli's managed to lose approx twenty pounds!! I'm quite proud of her, as you can imagine...
Lately Marli's been busy either reading Stephen King novels, learning how to paint on canvas, gaming on the Dreamcast and Gamecube and watching anime like Inu Yasha. She also still loves reading manga's like Ranma 1/2 and Inu Yasha and still won't let much get in the way of her imagination :)

Don't think that we've dropped this hobby altogether! :)
Mar and me've been getting our fix of anime semi-regularly the last couple of months. Series that we're currently following are Cowboy Bebop, Sailormoon, St. Tail and Inu Yasha (Marli's favourite!). On the other hand it's been real slow when it comes to manga, with the exception of two TPB's each of Ranma and of Inu Yasha.
In the drawing department I haven't gotten much done lately. I made a logo for my website's new Warhammer section and that's about it *blush of shame* I did however scan in the last two pages of the Lianne story, eventhough I haven't even finished drawing the two pages. I reckon that I'll never finish'em anyway :( I also was astounded that I hadn't put up the third page of the Cailin stories yet. Now that I remember I was busy colouring it months ago, but then I lost the file :[ So I rescanned the B/W image and I'll put that up untill I get around to colouring the page for real... I hope that I'll get some more ideas for the story sometime soon.

After a long while of silence I guess I got inspired again :)
While cleaning out our book case in the study I happened upon all of my old Warhammer 40k books (the models had been on display in the same bookcase since we started living here mind you) and I really felt like playing the game again. I got myself the ne w issue of White Dwarf magazine and bought myself a couple of tins of fresh paint and got started again. How long has it been? Must be more than five years now, since I was about eightteen or nineteen when I played the game actively.
Anyway. Since my interest in the hobby got rekindled (wonder how long it'll last this time'round! :D) I decided that I might as well create a new section on my website, dedicated to my humble Dark Angels army and to a couple of fora and other resources o n the web. With a bit of luck I'll keep on adding stuff to this new section through the following months. But haven't I said th at about other sections as well? *hangs head in shame* Ah well! C'est la vie!
